New Stratepedia Library coming very soon!

by Aaron Sumner.
Hello again--here's your next Stratepedia collaboration update.

The new Stratepedia Library I teased with at last summer's conference is almost here! We've been busy for the last year rewriting it from the ground up. As a reminder, here are some of the features we're offering:

Resources may be shared with multiple groups--no more need to post multiple times

Multiple files can be attached to a single interface--attach GIST, JPG, PPT, etc. versions of a device

Create your own groups, with privacy and moderation options

Enhanced comments function to provide feedback

Redesigned, cleaner interface

Want to see more? I've posted a couple of video clips at the Stratepedia Blog. If all goes to plan, I'm going to post a preview release of the site on Friday so you can have a look. Comment here if you want me to send you login information.

Thanks again!
Aaron

Revised Learning Labs support area, Moodle Mondays!

by Aaron Sumner.
Hello everyone,

Thanks again for your interest in the work we've been doing to improve collaboration at Stratepedia.org. I realize there's been a lot going on in the last few months I haven't had the opportunity to share--in the next few messages I'll bring you up to speed on what we've been up to.

One thing I'm particularly keen on right now is peer-based, collaborative support. We're pushing this notion in our slightly revamped online support sections for this site (Learning Labs) and other Stratepedia applications.

See it here: http://courses.stratepedia.org/course/view.php?id=26

The new support area provides direct links to answers to frequently asked questions, a link to the full Learning Labs Guidebook, and a forum for additional support. The forum is also where Amber has begun sharing tips that don't necessarily belong in the Guidebook. Be sure to visit regularly to see her latest Moodle Monday tip!

Thanks again for your interest! Part two of this update, wherein I talk about the much anticipated replacement to the Content Enhancement Library, coming shortly!

Aaron

Dossier available for testing next week

by Aaron Sumner.

I'm going to expand testing of Dossier, our new data collection and management system, next week. First ten people to respond to this can have an access code
Changes to the Recipes for Online Collaboration workarea

by Aaron Sumner.

Hi everybody--I did a little housekeeping this morning in our collaboration group. I figured that now that the conference and our session are over things should be tuned a little more toward our continuing discussions.

I sorted through the Stratepedia-specific content and placed it in one topic box instead of spreading it out. I also added two new topic areas: Conferencing and remote presentation and Virtual shared workspaces. CRL is investing a lot of time and a bit of money in both of these arenas; I'd love to hear (read?) your input on them, as well as let you know what we're working on rather than spring it on you at a conference next year.

Don't forget, you can all add new threads to any forum besides this one. Just click the Add a new discussion topic button at the top of the forum. We really want to hear from you.

Does this make sense? Should I structure things differently? Do I need to add anything?

Thanks and have a great week,
Aaron

Thanks for joining!

by Aaron Sumner.

Hi everybody,

Thanks again for attending our session last week and for joining this group. I'm excited to keep the ball rolling on this topic of how we can use online resources (whether developed at CRL, or by one of you, or by someone else) to make our work and communication more efficient and meaningful.

To kick things off, let's try a little activity. Go to the Say Hello! forum and tell everyone what you'd like to see us as a group accomplish here. It can be something general or something specific. I know I have a lot of goals for this project--I'll post my thoughts there as well to get us started.

For those of you who haven't used the Stratepedia Learning Labs or Moodle much, this group might also serve as an orientation to the many neat things we can do with the Moodle software (Amber's part of the presentation). Have an idea for something to add to this group? Just ask--chances are Moodle will let us do it, or if not directly we may be able to work some magic

Thanks again, and I look forward to hearing from and working with all of you!

Happy Thursday,
Aaron
